Bonjour...(hello)
This week we travelled the Atlantic Ocean all the way to France.
We started off the week by creating our own version of Claude Monet's famous painting, Water Lilies.
Since the Eiffel Tower is such an important landmark for France, we tried making one for ourselves out of marshmallows and toothpicks. It was much more difficult than we expected! I can only imagine trying to build the Tokyo Skytree...
Since the popular escargot (snails) didn't sound very yummy for our cooking day, we made chocolate mousse with ice cream bites and whip cream. Not only was it delicious, it was also easy to make...with Yoshino sensei's help.
To finish off the week, we made a toy that is popular all over the world. The traditional Japanese toy, Kendama, has also been a part of French culture since the 16th century. We made the French version, bilboquet, with a decorated paper cup attached to a paper ball by string.
Au revoir.
