Jenga

Today was a "catch up" day. Yesterday, Dana sensei was sick. So, today we had a lot of work to do. We worked on phonic sounds. There were two centers. One center was Dana sensei teaching phonics out of the book and the other center was a phonics self learning center. The other students who were not with Dana sensei were on the floor playing with a phonics activity all on their own. All students did a very good job for the first day of introducing centers. We plan to do this in the future since it was a success. These centers promote self learning and peer learning as well. Another words, learning without the teachers assistance.
今日は「遅れた分を取り戻そう！」DAYでした。というのも、昨日はデイナ先生が風邪でお休みだったので、今日はやることがたくさんあったのです！
「フォニックス（単語の読み方を発音と関係づけて教える方法）」をメインにお勉強しました。
今日は２つにグループ分けをしました。１つめのグループは、本を使わずにデイナ先生とお勉強。もう１つのグループは先生なしで自分たちだけで勉強できるかやってみました☆
デイナ先生がいないグループの子たちは、フォニックスのアクティビティーを自分たちだけでやっていました。初めて先生なしでやってみましたが、みんなすごくよく出来ていました！
このようにグループ分けをすると、自分で勉強する力とお友達と一緒にお勉強する力の両方が上達します。これからも、何度か今日のようにやってみようと思います♪
After the center time we played Jenga. Jenga is a very intense and high skill required game. Students must have the patience and mobility skills to slowly place a block on the tower without making the tower fall, or take out a block without making the tower fall. Most children succeeded at this game. It was very fun!
お勉強の後は「ジェンガ」をしましたよ～♪
ジェンガは集中力とスキルが必要なゲームです。タワーを倒さないようにブロックを取らなければいけないので、我慢強さが大事です☆
みんな上手に出来て、ゲームを楽しみました♪
